What is a Forklift License (Class G)?

It’s the document required to legally operate a forklift in traffic, indoor or outdoor areas, construction sites, warehouses, etc. It’s listed as a Forklift Construction Equipment Operator Course Program in the Ministry of National Education curriculum. What is the legal basis for a forklift license? Is it mandatory?

Primarily, the authority to train and certify forklift operators belongs to the Construction Equipment Courses affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. No training institution can be established within Turkey without the approval of the Ministry of National Education, which is the umbrella body for all educational activities. Construction Equipment Courses, independent of driving schools, are authorized to provide this training and certification.

Occupational safety experts request a forklift operator’s certificate during workplace inspections. According to Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, employers are required to provide training to their employees regarding their work. In the event of an accident involving an employee without vocational training, organizations that fail to provide training are considered primarily at fault.

Additionally, according to the Traffic Law, those who will operate a forklift must have their operator’s license included in their driver’s license. Otherwise, they may be deemed incompetent in the event of an accident, which would put both the operator and the employer in a difficult position. New driver’s licenses now list operator’s licenses as codes on the back of the license. These codes vary depending on the license class.

Where can I get a forklift license? Do I have to take a Heavy Equipment course?

Driving license can be obtained from Göksu Driving School (www.goksusurucukursu.com) , Construction Equipment Driving License can be obtained from Göksu Construction Equipment Course, which is an expert in the sector and works with successful experts in its field, and has given Operator Certificate to 10,000 people since 2004.

To obtain an Operator’s Certificate, you must first enroll in a Construction Equipment Course. The Operator’s Certificate is not a single-class license. As with automobile and motorcycle licenses, you must obtain the appropriate operator’s certificate for the construction equipment you will be operating.

After registering for the course, you will complete the necessary driving and theoretical training, and then take the driving test on a Sunday on the date that was determined and notified to you when you registered for the group.

You can find the test exam questions on our Forklift License Exam Questions page. You’ll also be subjected to a driving test with our forklift. If you can operate the forklift safely, you’ll pass the exam and earn your Operator’s License.

If you are going to use the forklift in traffic, you can pay the fee and have it registered on your driver’s license.

Class G Driver’s License operating fee: 11,235.60 TL (2025)

If you don’t have a driver’s license and want to apply your construction equipment operator’s license to your current license, you can enroll in a driving school, take courses like Traffic, Engine, and First Aid, then take the Class G driver’s license test, and then apply your operator’s license to your current license. If you already have a motorcycle license, or if you already have one and then want to apply your Construction Equipment Operator’s License to your current license, you don’t need to take another Class G driver’s license test.

How long does it take to get a Forklift License?

The forklift license exam is held every 15 days in the Ümraniye district. Depending on the semester you enroll in the course, you can receive your Operator’s License within 15-30 days.

** If you are going to use the forklift in an area open to traffic after obtaining the Operator’s Certificate, this is the amount to be paid when registering your certificate with your driver’s license.

** Unlike other types of driving licenses, there is no mandatory period for operating your Driving License.

Can I use a forklift without a forklift certificate and license?

What does it say when the forklift operator certificate is registered in the driver’s license?

Driving licenses have been renewed as of 01.01.2016.

From now on, your driver’s license code will be written instead of the name of the construction equipment driver’s license.
